Solo Project at Kingston University, London The Politics of Seduction | 12 May - 12 June, 2010 7.9 Cubic Metres is a free-standing structure by James Carrigan which operates as an artist-initiated micro-gallery within Stanley Picker Gallery, Kingston University. The structure comprises a ‘white cube’ and a curator’s office appended to its exterior, measuring an approximate 3 x 2 metres in total. It is an autonomous and transitional project space curated by Eliza Tan. Celebrating the creative energy in and around the area, Camden Town Unlimited in partnership with the London Borough of Camden are please to present an exhibition in their ‘pop up’ gallery by artist Jessica Holmes, Sinta Tantra and Samuel Williams.
Drawing its name from the Japanese word for ‘chit-chat’ Pecha-Kucha Night @ Club Ponderosa will feature ten local artists presenting their works in speed-slideshows: 20 slides each, 20 seconds to talk about each slide.

Sinta Tantra in conversation with curator Eliza Tan on her current solo show at Monika Bobinska gallery. Using the structure of Tantra’s favourite Radio 4 programme, Desert Island Discs, discussion about the artist’s work will be interspersed with projections from films such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s and South Pacific.

Sinta Tantra featured as part of London Fashion Week’s limited edition book
celebrating 10 SEASONS of ON|OFF.
The book includes images from many of the 185 designers who have showcased at
On|Off, including Jasper Conran, Sinha Stanic, Emma Cook, Allegra Hicks, Karen Walker,
and Gareth Pugh.
As part of Poetry International, a series of events were created by the Learning and
Participation department in response to Sinta Tantra’s installation at the Saisson Poetry
Library, Southbank Centre.
Performances of sign language poetry and written word poetry translated into sign
language. With poets Ilan Dwek, Fletch@, Caroline Parker, Paul Scott and

With artists Katie Cuddon, John Noi and Clare Strand (pictured). The exhibition
explores the duality between presence and absence ranging from the bodily and
physical to the surreal and poetic.
Sinta Tantra discusses her new installation in the Southbank Centre’s Saison Poetry
Library. In conversation with writer and editor Sam Phillips. Tantra will reveal the wide
range of topics that have inspired her work including the 1951 Festival of Britain.
A performance by Rosie Cooper in relation to Nick Hornby’s exhibition
Tell Tale Heart. The show presents an idea of what might happen if
one decides to put on a play. With performers Dominique Baron-Bonarjee
and Rachel Matthews.
A public commission for the Saisson Poetry Library, located on Level 5 of the Royal
Festival Hall, Southbank Centre. An interactive stage inspired by the Festival of Britain
1951 investigating the performative aspects of poetry.
The stage became the viewing platform for the Hayward’s Psycho Buildings exhibition’s
(May 28 - Aug 24, 2008) outdoor boat piece by Austrian art collective Gelitin, entitled
Normally, Proceeding and Unrestricted With Without Title (2008).

In response to Camely Street Natural Park, London Wildlife Trust and the
redevelopment of Kings’ Cross St. Pancras, artist Nick Hornby has built a 16 foot
tall sculpture inspired by Disney’s Sleeping Beauty castle. Part of London Festival
of Architecture 2008.
Commissioned by Camden Council, Sinta Tantra presents a series of prints on six Camden
women living at time before the Women’s Vote 1832: Elizabeth Garrett Anderson, Annie Bessant,
Reina Lawrence, Beatrice Webb, Mary Wollstonecraft and Virginia Wolf.
Funded by Awards for All, Young Parlour Tessellation! held a series of workshops
with young people in the Camden area to create an art installation inspired by
Islamic art and culture.
With art educators: Natasha Morrisson, Feroza Bari, Seda Ozgul and filmmaker Guy Bolongaro.
In collaboration with Go Partnership and Camden Council, Mapalim have
received funding to launch Young Parlour - an arts education programme
aimed for 11 – 15 year olds. The pilot gave 15 young people from Camden the
opportunity to work with professional artists resulting in a public exhibition and
launch. Participants were involved with all aspects of curtating, installing and
promoting the exhibition.

For Watch This 4, Sinta Tantra worked with a group of Year 12 students from Camden School
For Girls, investigating the nature of public, site specific and installation art.

Celebrating the official launch of Eurostar and the opening of St. Pancras

public commission for Camley Street Nature Reserve. With funding from the Arts

Celebrating the 15th year anniversary of the Deutsche Bank Awards. Featuring

New Exposure, Sinta Tantra, Tithi Kutchamuch and Tongue Suckers.
On|Off is holding an online auction during London Fashion Week to highlight
the plight of refugees in the troubled region of Darfur and to raise money for the
medical aid agency Merlin.
Participating artist and designers: Allegra Hicks, Alex Noble, Aminaka Wilmont
Bérubé, Hannah Martin, Jacob Kimmie, Kalikas Armour, Louise Armstrup,
Mac-Millan, Richard Sorger, Sinta Tantra and Steph Aman.
Sinta Tantra awarded the Gordon Luton Award by the Worshipful Company Painter’s
Stainer’s Trust, City of London. The award was given in recognition of highly commendable
degree show from a London Art College.
Installation and performance in collaboration between Sinta Tantra and choreographer
Katie Green of greenbeandance. Play to Win Part II resulted as a development of Play to Win
Part I originally performed at The Parlour Studios April 2007.
Play to Win II formed part of a group show curated by Ann Elliott for Canary Wharf’s
exhibition series of Sculpture in the Workplace.
Other exhibiting artists include Nicola Carvell, Alasdair Duncan, James Howard, Natsue Ikeda,
Alana Lake, Robert Leech, Weng Man, Suzanne Moxhay, Eloise Rowley, Andro Semeiko and
Amy Woolley.
As part of Architecture Week 2007, London Borough of Camden commissioned
artist Sinta Tantra to produce a mural on Regents Park Bridge. In partnership
with Deustche Bank, Network Rail, Camden Railway Heritage, Primrose Hill
Primary School, and Adelaide Nature Reserve.
Sinta Tantra received the 2007 Civic Award for this commission.
Regents Park Bridge will be featuring in the cycle route for the 2012 Olympics.
As part of Sinta Tantra’s commission on Regents Park Bridge for Architecture Week
2007, workshops were developed with Primrose Hill Primary School and Adelaide
Nature Reserve. The workshops centred around how the urban and natural
environment can co exist.
Working in collaboration with drama practioner Andi Cooper and choreographer Katie
Green.

Judged by Peter Blake, Tim Marlow and exhibited at the Horse Hospital Gallery, London.
Nominated by the Evening Standard Magazine, Sinta Tantra listed as one of the top
50 creative talents under 30 living and working in London. Other artists include Douglas
